My Dress Up Darling Season 2 is a TV anime adaptation of the original manga written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda, published from January 2018 to March 2025 on Square Enix's seinen manga magazine Young Gangan. Animation studio CloverWorks produced the anime series, which aired its first season from January to March 2022.

The story revolves around Wakana Gojo, an introverted high school student who's a passionate hina doll craftsman. He ends up becoming close to his beautiful and popular classmate, Marin Kitagawa, due to their shared interest in cosplay. After learning about his talent for making Japanese hina dolls, Marin then encourages Wakana to make cosplay costumes.

Wakana starts getting some confidence with Marin's support. Their collaboration has since produced beautifully crafted cosplay costumes. As Wakana is beginning to come out of his shell, Marin then starts to develop feelings for him. Their growing friendship along the way is just the tip of the iceberg.

Season Two takes place after the events of the anime's first season. Wakana is still completely unaware of what happened during the latter part of My Dress Up Darling Season One's last episode. With that said, both protagonists carry on as usual in Season Two.

The first couple of episodes of My Dress Up Darling Season Two have been enjoyable and entertaining. It's a classic love story that anyone can relate to. No wonder its first season has been critically acclaimed, and rightfully so.

CloverWorks did a wonderful job with the visuals and animation. Speaking of visuals, it's reminiscent of the original manga's covers. It's very pleasing and not saturated.

Fans of romantic comedy and slice of life anime should definitely check out My Dress Up Darling. The anime's second season, so far, has been good as advertised. With Episodes One and Two officially in the books, casuals and fans alike can surely look forward to the upcoming episodes.

My Dress Up Darling Season 2 is now streaming on Crunchyroll with new episodes every Saturday.
