Nyaight of the Living Cat is a TV anime series based on the original manga "Night of the Living Cat" written by Hawkman and illustrated by Mecha-Roots, serialized in 2020 by Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Garden. The anime adaptation is produced by animation studio OLM.

In the year 20XX, the world was hit by an unknown virus that turns humans into cute, adorable cats, which eventually spread and became a global nyandemic. Only a few humans remain uninfected as they try to navigate and survive a grim future full of cats.

Nyaight of the Living Cat is definitely a 'what if?' take on the 1968 horror film "Night of the Living Dead" by George A. Romero. Instead of the undead, it's cute, adorable cats wreaking havoc on the planet. The drawback is that the main characters are all cat-lovers and they must resist the urge to even get close to cats, otherwise, they'll become just like their feline nemesis if they touch them.

If anyone has seen the 1968 or 1990 remake of "Night of the Living Dead," the plot is already a giveaway. To those who haven't, Nyaight of the Living Cat will surely attract some interest not only to anime fans but also to cat lovers and horror flick enthusiasts.

Anyone who watches Nyaight of the Living Cat will be reminded of the COVID-19 global pandemic that broke out in 2020. It was indeed a difficult time in human history. Nyaight of the Living Cat could very well be inspired by the events of the global pandemic as well. It wouldn't be surprising if that's the case.

The first couple of episodes showed a glimpse of how adorably horrific the nyandemic is in the world of Nyaight of the Living Cat. Adding some comic relief balanced out the anime's dark visuals.

Speaking of visuals, Studio OLM produced smooth animation in Nyaight of the Living Cut. It's almost like watching an OVA or Original Video Animation. Hopefully, the same quality of animation can be expected in the upcoming episodes of the anime.

If anyone is looking for a new must-see anime series, check out Nyaight of the Living Cat. Casual fans will also enjoy this anime and may possibly become cat lovers.

Nyaight of the Living Cat is now streaming on Crunchyroll with new episodes every Sunday.
