Anime Review: Zenshu Episode 1 (Spoiler Free)
Zenshu is an anime series about a talented animator who made her directorial debut in her first anime, instantly becoming a hit. While working on her next project about a rom-com movie, she was having difficulty in creating storyboards due to having no experience whatsoever about falling in love at all. The project was in danger of going in a pinch due to her lack of understanding of being in love. Thus, stagnating creative juices to draw the storyboard for the movie.
One day, she suddenly passed out trying to draw one of her storyboards, and then she suddenly woke up in the world of her favorite anime, which she had grown up watching.
After watching the premiere episode of Zenshu, there's still a lot to learn about Natsuko Hirose, the main protagonist in the anime, aside from being introverted and a talented anime director. Her character development may progress in the upcoming episodes along with the supporting cast.
Episode 1 also gave a glimpse of her abilities in the other world while trying to figure out how and why she ended up there in the first place.
MAPPA is obviously in their element with the animation in Zenshu. Some of the action scenes will remind viewers of their impressive work on Attack on Titan - The Final Season in 2020-2023. Interestingly, the overall aesthetics of the anime is very colorful.
With Episode 1 already in the books, Zenshu could very well be a promising anime series in 2025. Looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
