Blacklist International Takes The Crown At The First-Ever McDonald's Tempest Cup!
(Press Release)
MANILA - Blacklist International proved triumphant in the first-ever McDonald’s Tempest Cup! Taking home the lion’s share of the PHP 500,000 prize pool, the team outwitted runner-up Execration with a 3-1 score thanks to their unmatched strategy, hero pool, and resilience.
Over three weeks, the McDonald’s Tempest Cup hosted over a hundred teams in their conquest to be the best Honor of Kings Philippines team. The tournament was the first-ever nationwide competition, which saw squads from Cebu, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao gather in McDonald’s outlets. It was reminiscent of community gatherings back in the old LAN days but with a mobile phone this time.
"The McDonald's Tempest Cup is the start of many Honor of Kings esports tournaments coming to the Philippines. With its success, we are also looking forward to the next chapter in our partnership with McDonald's Philippines. We hope to see everyone soon!” stated Angelica Neri, Senior Esports Manager at Level Infinite.
"I’m so happy na nag-champion kami sa first ever McDonald's Tempest Cup and minamanefest ko talaga to, na manalo kami para maging momentum din namin sa darating na HOK Championship." (I am very happy that we are the champions in the first-ever McDonald's Tempest Cup, and I really manifested that we would win so we would have the momentum in the upcoming HOK Championship.), stated Gerald Gianne Gelacio, Blacklist International Coach.
The Honor of Kings McDonald’s Tempest Cup is powered by official smartphone partner, TECNO Mobile Philippines.
