SEGA is proud to announce that the Asia edition of Aniplex's Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is coming out on August 1 for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam.

In addition, the key visual, newly drawn by ufotable, has been released as well as a new promotion video.

Furthermore, pre-orders for the digital editions on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam are now open!

*The release date for the Steam version is August 6, 2025.
*The Steam Digital Deluxe Edition includes early access, allowing you to play starting from August 1st.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is an arena fighter based on the April 2019 anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The game, which launched on October 14, 2021, was developed by CyberConnect2 and produced by Aniplex, with Aniplex (*1) and SEGA publishing it in Japan and overseas, respectively. Additional playable characters were continuously released through free updates, and the paid downloadable content Entertainment District DLC pack was sold over the course of five installments.

The game was met with critical acclaim and surpassed 400 million unit sales (*2) worldwide.

About the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Anime

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge published under SHUEISHA's JUMP COMICS, which consists of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable.

The story begins when Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon, joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human after she is transformed into a demon. In April 2019, the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba first premiered with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, followed by the release of the feature film Mugen Train in October 2020, and the TV series Mugen Train Arc and Entertainment District Arc from 2021 through 2022.

Starting in February 2023, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- World Tour kicked off, followed by the TV adaptation of the Swordsmith Village Arc airing and streaming in April. In February 2024, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- was released in movie theaters worldwide featuring a special theatrical screening in over 145 countries and regions - surpassing the previous year's release. The TV series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc was broadcast and streamed online in May.

The production of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is confirmed to arrive in movie theatres as a trilogy.
