Forza Horizon 5's New 'Hide & Seek' Game Mode Now Available To Play

The new "Hide & Seek" game mode on Forza Horizon 5 is now available to play for Windows and Xbox.

In late August, Playground Games announced the new multi-player game mode at Gamescom 2024. Hide & Seek officially went live on September 10.

Play as a Hider or join the Seekers

In the new game mode, players will be randomly assigned as the Hider or one of the Seekers. The designated Hider will have the daunting task of going to a particular location with a given time limit while preventing getting caught by a team of Seekers.

In a race against the clock, the Hider must use sneaky tactics to hide from the Seekers to reach the location while blending into the traffic and environment.

Five players will play the role of Seekers in the new multi-player mode. As Seekers, the objective is to locate and stay as close as possible to the Hider. The Seeker's Detection Meter will start filling up once the Seekers find and get close to the designated Hider.

Hiders will have the option to play the following cars:

  • 2012 Jeep Wrangler
  • 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor
  • 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
  • 2018 Mercedes X Class

The Seekers, on the other hand, have a wider range of cars they can use to complete their mission such as:

  • 2016 BMW M4 GTS
  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  • 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG
  • 2015 Audi RS6
  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR
  • 2021 Ford Bronco
  • 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Trucks AT37
  • 2017 Nissan GT-R (R35)
  • 2016 Ariel Nomad
  • 2004 SUBARU Impreza WRX STi
  • 1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16

All the listed playable cars for both Hiders and Seekers will have a special Hide & Seek build. Players, however, can not use their custom-built cars for this game mode.

Forza x Jordan Brand

This September, players will get a free Luka 3 "Motorsport" 1969 Chevrolet Camaro for both Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport games.

The free custom Camaro collab car can be accessed via the Gifts tab in the game's Message Center.

Forza Motorsport players who complete all five events in the Jordan Luka 3 Motorsport Series can unlock the Jordan Luka 3 Racing Suit.

'Hide & Seek' Power-ups, Matchmaking, and Rewards system

Hide & Seek won't be without power-ups to help both the Hider and Seekers complete missions/objectives. The Seekers can earn "Radar" points by reaching the Hider's location. They can use their "Ping" ability to lock the Hider's exact location. The Hider's location will be shown on the map for 20 seconds.

"Chase Breaker" is the Hider's ability (when activated) to force the Seekers' Radar and Ping to be turned off for 20 seconds. This ability can also make the Hider's vehicle turn into a "ghost car". Once in a "ghost car" form, the player can pass through any object that is smashable in the game.

The "Chase Breaker" however, has a cooldown period. The Hider must use this ability wisely in the game.

With Hide & Seek now available to play, a new location will be added to the map once the players enter the game's new multiplayer mode.

Players can either play alone, match with other players online, or join the game as a convoy leader with friends.

The new game mode will have its own separate Rewards system. Completing games will let players earn XP exclusive to Hide & Seek mode. Players can also get new badges while leveling up.

Those who frequently play the new Hide & Seek mode will earn bonus XP for every completed game while building a play streak. This will also allow players to level up quickly throughout the game. Players can unlock new achievements while playing Hide & Seek mode.

A future update of the game will feature a new batch of accomplishments for players in October.
