Movie Review: 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle'

"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle" is an action-packed anime movie with stunning visuals that will keep you glued to your seat right from the start.
"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle" is a dark fantasy anime film based on the "Infinity Castle" arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba original manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from February 2016 to May 2020. The film adaptation is directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by Ufotable. It is also a direct sequel to the fourth season of the anime TV series.
From the get-go, viewers are treated to some fast-paced action inside an overwhelmingly enormous, topsy-turvy castle. Tanjiro and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps try to navigate through the ever-changing interiors of the castle to locate Muzan as they encounter a bunch of demons along the way. If that's not bad enough, they also have to go through some powerful upper-class demons that will try to curb their mission.
The choreographies of the fight scenes were absolutely breathtaking and memorable. Shinobu Kocho's duel with Doma is definitely one of the highlights of the movie, but Tanjiro and Giyu's battle with Akaza was the one that stood out the most.
Like the anime TV series, the movie adaptation has some dark tones, but is mostly visually colorful. Ufotable did an incredible job with this full-length animated film. Demon Slayer Infinity Castle's CGI animations are just so smooth and incredibly stunning. While Ufotable did most of the work, other anime studios such as A-1 Pictures and Pierrot Films were also credited in the film. The combination of 2D and 3D animation was perfectly executed. The cuts from each fight scene were just well animated.
Indeed, Infinity Castle is fast-paced and dazzling; the only setback was its flashback scenes. While it is essential to the film's story, the length of some of these scenes was rather long. Perhaps director Haruo Sotozaki wanted to go in-depth with the characters' past, hence the 155-minute length of the movie.
The Japanese voice actors did an amazing job on "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle," especially Akira Ishida, the voice behind Akaza in the film. His performance was just incredible. Hats off to Ishida-san.
Inspiring theme songs from two of the best Japanese artists, Aimer and the Queen of Anisongs, LiSA, made "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle" even more special.
Fans of the Demon Slayer anime TV series and manga will definitely enjoy "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle," especially those who are new to anime or just casual moviegoers. As of this writing, the film has already made over $200 million worldwide. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle" is an action-packed anime movie with stunning visuals that will keep you glued to your seat right from the start.
"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle" is clearly a must-see anime film of 2025.
