(Press Release)
SEGA has released an interview with the cast of Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, which arrives on Nintendo Switch™ 2.
Nintendo Switch™ 2 Yakuza 0 Director's Cut | Special Pre-Launch Interview
Listen to Takaya Kuroda, Hidenari Ugaki, Kazuhiro Nakaya, and Hitoshi Ozawa—the voices behind Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, Akira Nishikiyama, and Daisaku Kuze, respectively—as they share their thoughts about returning to their roles 10 years after the original Yakuza 0's release.
Main Characters
The Awakening Dragon
Kazuma Kiryu (Japanese VA: Takaya Kuroda)
A member of the Dojima Family, a direct subsidiary of the Tojo Clan, the largest yakuza organization in Eastern Japan. Orphaned at a young age, he was raised in the Sunflower Orphanage established by Shintaro Kazama, the Dojima Family's lieutenant.
Following in Shintaro's footsteps, Kiryu plunges into the depths of the yakuza underworld. However, when a certain murder case comes to light, Kiryu finds his father figure Kazama pulled into the crossfire.
Determined to protect those he holds dear, Kiryu decides to leave the Dojima Family, but the clan's three lieutenants have no intention of letting him leave quietly.
The Caged Dog
Goro Majima (Japanese VA: Hidenari Ugaki)
The manager of the thriving Cabaret Grand in Sotenbori, Osaka. Dubbed Lord of the Night, for having resurrected the once lifeless club to what is now Sotenbori's number one spot for night life.
The glitz and glam serve as a cover for his true identity—a former yakuza of the Tojo Clan who was kicked out for defying orders. Following a brutal period of confinement and torture, he now lives bound by a leash gripped firmly by his family, where a single misstep could tempt them to completely pull his noose.
Struggling to find a way out of his façade, the Tojo Clan have Majima backed into a corner and offered him the only condition for his return to the clan: he must personally wipe out a certain someone from existence.
Dojima Family, Tojo Clan
Akira Nishikiyama (VA: Kazuhiro Nakaya)
Raised in the Sunflower Orphanage alongside Kiryu, Nishikiyama also followed in the footsteps of Kazama and swore an oath to the Dojima Family. Having been best friends since childhood, Kiryu considers him a brother. While Kiryu has no interest in climbing up the ranks of the yakuza, Nishikiyama has the wits and drive to soar high.
Lieutenant of the Dojima Family, Patriarch of the Kenno Clan
Daisaku Kuze (VA: Hitoshi Ozawa)
A former professional boxer, and a true yakuza to the core.
His propensity for violence sets him apart from even the rest of the notoriously brutal Dojima Family. As the eldest of the three lieutenants, he leads the Dojima Family in Kazama's absence—and is currently one step away from becoming the next captain.
