Quiccs Maiquez, a Filipino toy designer, illustrator and graffiti artist, has done many collaborations from international artists to well known brands like Adidas and Foot Locker, just to name few. In 2022, he partnered with premiere Esports and entertainment agency – Tier One Entertainment.

The company launched local Esports team Blacklist International in 2020 and has already won championships in Mobile Legends League Philippines (seasons 7, 8, and 10), M3 World Championship (2021) and Call of Duty Mobile Garena Invitational (2022).

Tier One first collaborated with Quiccs and fellow Filipino artist Greg "Egg Fiasco" Guleserian to design Blacklist's jerseys in July 2022. Then the premiere esports and entertainment brand hooked up with Maiquez once again to design "Tier One Mariko," which officially launched in September 2022.

"When Tier One first reached out to us, I was really excited for this collab. From the get-go I saw this as a great opportunity for both of our brands to reach a broader market," he recalled. "The Quiccs brand will be introduced to a younger, gamer demographic, while Blacklist will be introduced to an older, more global market."

He and friend/business partner Carlo Mendoza, are avid gamers themselves. DOTA (Defense of the Ancients) was their jam back in college. They play Mobile Legends: Bang Bang whenever they have some free time in the evening.

"Me and Carlo [Mendoza] used to play DOTA [Defense of the Ancients] 1 back in college and I still watch the Major and TIs when I have the chance," the Filipino toy designer disclosed. "As for MLBB [Mobile Legends: Bang Bang], even today we sneak-in a game or two at night when we can."

To this day, Quiccs is still in awe whenever he sees players and agents of Blacklist International rocking the jerseys he designed at esports competitions.

"It gives me goosebumps to see V33wise, Edward, Tims, Kuku, the rest of Blacklist and all of the agents wearing my design," he confessed.

Since their collaboration in 2022, it was just natural for Quiccs to partner with Tier One Entertainment and he simply loves working with them.

"Tier One is a world class Filipino brand," he said. "The partnership felt natural and we love working with them."
